I still have a focus problem with eyepieces mate, but prime focus with the camera hanging off the end seems no probs. Bintel rang me today on my email and said they would send me an extension tube to fix the problem.
I'm gonna go to my uncles tonight and use his lathe to turn one of my own anyway. I have some aircraft grade allie round bar and tube at home.
I have to make a counterweight bar too now.
Other than that little hiccup, I am extremely happy with the ED80 Skywatcher overall.
Oh Baz, 30 secs?, too much noise, yes the ED80 is capable of very good pics with an DSLR, but do it justice with a few minuites, please. Youd be amazed at the difference, even with one exposure. Did you have guideing?.
Hi Baz,that's a good image for a single 30 second exposure you were starting to collect some good detail. Just a few more would have kicked it along just that bit more.
Still it's a good effort, looking forward to more images.
Congratulations on the new scope Barry, plus that first image looks good to me, have you taken another shot since, so that we can compare to see that you are heading in the right direction?

great shot!
I also had a focus problem with eyepieces on my ED80 but it disappeared once I started using a star diagonal. I guess that's a known issue for all new ED80s.
cheers,
Mike
