Jupiter last night, 14th July from Murrumbateman

William and Barbara are visiting from Hong Kong (William is LT_ng on this forum) and also their friend Alan is here too, so the ground around the house is covered in scopes :-)

The seeing last night was very good, however Jupiter is moving earlier and earlier into the evening, making thermal control more difficult.

Here's an image from just past transit at about 9.55pm.

regards, Bird

Another wonderful image. Your visitors must be very pleased to be able to see Australia’s premiere planetary imager hard at work!

Cheers

hmmm, still producing the goods!

I was just watching the same scene last night with seeing up the crap, and wondering whether the early night "thermals" have killed the season??

They have all brought scopes to do deep-sky stuff, so they set up out the front of the house and I'm out the back... every now and then we go and see what the other person is doing, but when the imaging is on it's all hands on desk at the scopes...

ps very clear here tonight, hoping for another good session!

oh well, a bit of jetstream about I think, the image was very stable but missing some of the smaller details. White polar storms going in and out of view...

Hi Paul,

We were back to HK yesterday night. This year we had a very fantastic weather with our trip. But I am not sure how the film images come out. They are in developping now. Wish they didn't disappoint me.

Nambour is a beautiful place. We will be to visit you absolutely.

Sorry for OT here.

Regards,

LT
