Covert the MOV into a bunch of bitmaps first, and then use a gif animation software to create a gif!

Use Bink&Smacker to convert the MOV to avi or any other format including bitmaps I believe. Otherwise try VirtualDub.

Been a while but you can use Bink & Smacker rad video tools (free) to extract all the frames as gifs.

http://www.topdrawerdownloads.com/download/104350

If you want an animated gif you can use PhotoShop to link these extracted gifs, look for help on Web animation or creating an animation.

I'm sure there's other ways.

OK, thanks Mike and Chris.

I don't have Bink & Smacker or Virtual Dub, but I know how to make animations in Animation Shop.

The video I am tring to convert is from my Kodak Digital camera and I want to put it into Windows Movie Maker but it won't accept it.

Thanks Mike and Chris.

The Bink & Smacker did the job. I am making my 'You Tube' Astrophotography Video Part 2 and I needed to add a bit of video I took of the scope moving.

Now all I need is nice weather so I can get more images. I've have used up all the half decent ones I had, and I still have about 1.5 minutes to fill
