Last month coming home from Cambroon, I noticed a break in the mountain that gave a fantastic view to the Glass House Mountains. But being in a steep winding part of the road, I couldn't turn around and come back.
This month I stopped.
I merged 4 images using Ulead Cool 360 in panorama mode.
Paint Shop Pro to Clarify, USM and adjust Contrast.
The original full resolution image was over 32mb , it took heaps of resizing to get it down to a reasonable size to post.
Can you imagine what it would have been like 16 million years ago when they were active?
I love volcanos.
One of my best experiences is climbing to the top of Yassur Volcano, standing on the very edge of the caldera ( watch out for the loose rocks or you'll slip in) and looking straight down into the left vent. When that volcano went CHOOF which it did every 50 seconds or so, it would shoot up lumps of lava and clouds of sulphur. What an adrenelin rush!

Ever ridden the train between Nambour and Caboolture? It goes right in front of Timbro with a huge open clearing and everything. I go past it twice every day on the way down to Brissy for uni, and its the most amazing site I get to see
Mount Coonowrin was and still is my favourite. Grew up in Bundy and the family would drive the route to Brisbane once or twice a year. Exciting view for we kids.
