Latest Centaurus A

Quite happy with this shot despite some guiding errors.

20 minutes worth of exposures.
ISO 1600
D70
LX200 10"

Robby I am sold on the idea of 1600 ISO and very short Exposures. I should really go at least 40 minutes worth. Maybe on the weekend and I will try guide dog then.

Anyway here you go.

Thanks Guys.

Peter I had a big night tonight, started imaging just after dark at around 6:30 and did not finish until 9:00 pm. I took just 28 images during that time and this was one of the targets. I am really happy with the increase in image quality from last time. Am a little disappointed with the field rotation of stars. Don't know how this happened given that I am in polar mounting. Unless it was because I did not use the focal reducer which flattens the field.

Anyway I had a good night. Phone did not ring once. Nice and peaceful.

Cheers.

Great shot Paul, awesome image of a nice target. The field rotation is quite evident - are you still using your wedge?

Yeah still in polar mount. There was a bit of dec movement in the images and perhaps the image appeared rotated because of it. Or it may be something to do with Registax when it stacked it.
