Collimation Question

I hope that I am explaining this question properly but whilst new to this aspect of collimating my new dob, could somebody tell me if it is proper to adjust the secondary mirror according to the primary mirror position(centre) or is it done the other way round ? Or doesn't it matter ?

John

Have you read the article in "Projects & Articles" to the left and searched for threads on collimation? There have been some good threads and references to great articles in the last few months, including video explanations on the internet. All good stuff and will answer your question and more.

Eric

Thanks Erik
I'll go through them and see which ones I haven't read yet.

Hi John, Jacquie here - are you going to bring your new dob along to deep sky on sat? We can run through it then (I'm expecting it to be a little cloudy). It's a shame you couldn't make it to Murdoch on friday when we did collimation. For the record its secondary first , then the primary.
