Shevill Mathers.

Ladies and gents, Mr Shevill Mathers of Tasmania has just sent me pictures of his observatory and a quick biography To add to the "Other observatories" page on A.S.I.G.N.

Have a squizz on this link at the bottom of the page.
http://www.aussiepeople.com.au/asign...rvatories.aspx

I had a chat with Shevill on the phone a couple of weeks ago and found him to be a lovely chap. Shevill is a very experienced astronomer with a lot of knowledge in imagery and development of imaging systems. You should see what this guy has done in his time!

He is currently building his third observatory!

Anyway, have a read up on him. A very interesting character.

Baz.

It would be great if Shevill could join our site, and get involved in the IIS scene.

Yep, Baz works hard on his site, he deserves some success, he never asks for a dime and does everything from the heart.

Hi all,
I couldn't agree with you more Barry. I see that Shevill is sort of involved with another astronomy site and whilst i know he is a wonderful chap, i guess he will have a loyalty of sorts to that site. Not a bad thing by any means, but it's great when people with a common interest share ideas.
Damn i didn't realize i could be so diplomatric.
I must admit i use both sites and enjoy them immensly. Not being hypocritical just being honest.Good on ya Shevill. Gotta get me a short wave radio or put up a long wire to get reception.
Cheers,
Duncan

There are lots of people who are involved in more than one forum.....we're all promoting the same thing, aren't we (amateur interest in astronomy)?

Please don't misunderstand my thoughts. As far as i'm aware we all want to promote astronomy. Just as my preference is for this site others will have their own preferences as well.
Cheers,
Duncan
