Ive always wanted to image this item, so did the widest field I could with any Scope I have going for the largest objective, used an Acromat (102mm x F5 Skywatcher) + an F-6.3 focal reducer (wasent made for this scope though) dident worry about the coulor bit as only B/W will do fine for this work, this setup should cover 4 Deg. of Arc. using the Canon 300D, Well it worked but could be sharper so seeing what size it presents, ill try the ED80 + FR and see how we go, a lot of interesting Galaxies here, with ngc 4435/4438 at about midcentre.
4 x 6 Min. at ISO-800 DF removed, w/Canon 300D modded, guided.
Wow, nice.
Is it just me, or are there little, bright cicles shaped object just below center? What are they if you can see them too. I dont beleive they are galaxies because the look dark in the center. Another possibility is unfocused objects, but what would be there?
I have to disagree Geoff, but it is the Virgo 'Markarians Chain' Cluster.
Jim, here are the designations of the brighter members. I can't find the map with the designations of the other fainter ones I've marked. There are also several others in there that may or may not be extra fainter members. Well done! Heaps better than mine from last weekend

Thanks for the comments and interest, Well Geoff- I can guarantee its not in Fornax but in Virgo, and Ken- Thank you for putting in the designations of all those Galaxies, makes it look more understandable, guess I should have put in a bit more info. on the original post, Seems Light capture is the big item here, wish I had a BORG 102 @ F-3 would be ideal, Im going to try the Skywatcher again with a Baader Fringe killer filter as this may sharpen the image a bit (colour cut) I dont need the colour but some would be present and gives an out of focus effect, also the ED80 + FR and see what they do, ill post the results.
Oops my mistake. i had only heard the phrase "Markarian chain" used to describe a Fornax galaxy group and I thought I recognised a grouping of five that looked familar.
