Best ever Jupiter

Thought I might post this in its own thread.

I've already tacked it on the end of my "Jupiter Swarmed" thread, but I took Mike's advice and gave it a 1.5x Resample in Registax as well as the LR decon treament in AstraImage and touch-up in Photoshop and thought it was worth its own thread.

I'm pretty sure it's my best ever Jupiter. (Taken March 23)

There's definitely detail on Ganymede.

Wow - this one has everything. Galilean moons, the GRS, nice detail inside the GRS, markings on Ganymede and ovals galore. Fantastic work Matt.

Cheers

Dennis

Definitely worthy of its own thread. Great stuff Matt. Still a little cross-hatching around the edges due to the resample, but it's not too distracting in any way.

Well done on a fine image. Now get that DMK cranking!

Thanks Dennis and Mike.

Mike - the DMK will certainly be earning its keep. Just taking it nice and slow for the moment.

Not sure whether I want to take up too much of this Jupiter season getting the hang of it when I can be successfully imaging with the ToUcam

Still don't have the $$$ for a filter wheel and filters

Mike

Is there a way to avoid this in the resampling process or to get rid of this in post processing?

Thanks

You could try using ninox (ppmcentre) to upscale it before passing through registax. Of course you'll need to do the full split processing, including RGBSplit then ninox then registax then recombine.

It should avoid the cross-hatching.

Saving it for a slow news day, Davo.

And I want to wait until I've received my IceInSpace beanie.

That way I can do the strut to the tune of "You Can Leave Your Hat On".

priceless!
