Tarantula and Sombrero with a Toucam!

I had a fantastic night last night!

Absolutely no wind, mild temps, and a sky as clear as glass!!!

I finally captured Tarantula a bit better (it ain't great) and as a Bonus, I also image my first GALAXY with the Modded Toucam! (and I'm very happy with it)

Both these images were taken with Modded Toucam 840k Pro II, ED80 on EQ6, captured in Desire, stacked in Registax and processed in PaintShop Pro.

1. Tarantula - 7 x 1 minute

2. Sombrero - 5 x 3 minutes

That is great imaging Ken. I would be scared to see what results you would get with high end gear. Would autoguiding have helped?

Thanks Bert

Yep, autoguiding would certainly help because there is still quite a bit of drift in the stars in my pics. Once I get the Shoestring Guiding cable i'll be in business.

Yeah Andrew,
I'm not happy with the Tarantula pic either, but I stuck it in coz it's the best pic of it I've got so far. Next time maybe

Thanks everyone above.

I am going to be flogging the Toucam at Camp over the next 4 nights and hopefully learn how to use the capture settings better from the experts, and how to stack better. I still don't know how to use Registax properly

Lots to learn at Camp
