I don't have a funny Hoges video, but rather a very funny Hoges memory.

When I was at Channel 9 I used to work on the Paul Hogan Show. What was even funnier than the Show was making the Show. There were sooooo many funny things that happened, but one in particular that I just cannot forget.

Paul Hogan was doing a 'Mighty Hulk' skit, and when the Hulk reaches up and flexes his muscles in the famous 'Hulk' stance, his pants fall down.
I had to lay on the floor just out of shot and pull Pauls pants down at the right speed so it would look like they fell down.

We rehearsed it only once and it was perfect. Now it was time to record it.

Action!!! As well as grabbing Pauls pants I also grabbed his leg hairs in the cloth and he let out an almighty yell.

Take 2!!! As I was pulling his pants down his Jocks came too

Take 3!!! Leg hairs again

Take 4: Too Slow

Take 5: Too jerky

Take 6: Paul laughed

and on it went for ages until finally It looked just right

In that one afternoon I must have pulled Paul Hogans pants down more than Linda Kowslowski ever has

Great story Ken, right up my street, the Paul Hogan show was one of the best if not the best Oz comedy of the 70s, or any decade.

Love it, especially the legendary Leo Wanker.

They're all good those ones!
I had some links to some more Hoges, where Strop made his hangover bomb......i remember watching the repeated shows in the early 80's as a kid, as well as Kingswood Country etc.....
Love the story Ken, you didnt happen to get a few "behind-the-scenes" pics at all?
And the Late Show/ D-Generation gang always gets me laughing! Even when i watched The Dish i could see some of the humour that Santo and Co produced throughout the Late Show.....i saw some Bargearse on YouTube as well.....
Charlie the Wonderdog is my favourite though!!!

I'll post some more links when i get a chance! been too busy out photographing the comet......8 rolls of film and counting!!!!

Cheers!

As staff, we weren't allowed to take pics of any of the shows we worked on.

I do have a Video though presented to me when I left. It is of 3 different shows on my last 2 days. Don Lane Show (they stuck me in the Dance troup while drunk ), Farewell to me on Hey Hey it's Saturday, and Farewell to me on New Faces. I must get around to converting it to DVD.

Ummm, I didn't think so.

What was funny was a favourite saying we had when we were on the crew of New Faces.

When people found out we worked at Channel 9 we'd say "you should go on New Faces" and they would say "why?" We would say "Coz you need one"
