Bankstown .

Well done !

Shows that you dont need a 10 incher to accumulate enough photons to image dso's.

Very nice NGC 4594 image how many names do they need? You should send some of your images to the Amags Louie.

Thanks all ! the sombrero is one of those galaxies that never fails to please visually or photographically and the bigger the scope the better it looks!
Anthony, on your piont about imaging without tracking " I think that you would need some form of tracking on your Big Dob and Maybe
Meads new DSI imager because its more sensative it could go deeper in a shorter exposure time, a bit of stacking and you would be there!
So after all that dribble the shorter answer is yes !

Anthony without tracking you won't be able to get shots like that.. However if you're handy you could make yourself an EQ platform.. even then it may not be accurate and smooth enough for DSO photography, but it could produce some results.
