We had the weirdest drop of rain I have seen last night.
It was a light steady rain but the clouds were so light the stars were actually shining through and I could easily see Orion from where I was standing, very strange indeed.

cheers

A few drips and drops here over the last half hour or so. Not enough to even register in the weather station though (it reads to 0.1mm resolution). The BOM site shows a significant cloud band following a trough so, with a bit of luck, we'll receive more as the day progresses.

It's been pouring down here at Tura for a good hour and a half and all the new plants we put in have got a good soaking. Cant complain, everything needed it.
Just discovered though that the gutters need cleaning , there was a few overflows at a few points. I think I invest in some leaf guards to solve that problem in the future.

cheers

We have had more rain overnight and today, all in all 50mm since Friday night.

Great for the garden, I think the grass looks greener already.

Nice rainband running across Brisbane's Dam Catchments at the moment. Hopefully at least 20-30 mm by the time it clears away tonight.

I don't think Brisbane is too far from dropping below 20% Dam capacity, hope we get heavy rain soon! (not much point worrying about astronomer when theres no water!).

We've had about 15mm this afternoon.
Good slow, soaking rain.
The temperature dropped, at 3pm was 17 degrees, at 4pm it was only 14 degrees!

Summer will arrive in the new year after all this rain is finished.
Still drizzling here.

It's been steady soaking rain in the western subrubs of Brisbane all day yesterday, overnight and today. Great for the garden, but I'd really like to see it a bit further west over the dams.

As for "summer"? Who cares - its normally too hot and humid up here anyway!

A bleak drizzly day with a top 19 C in Brisbane (I think a December Brisbane record). I have never felt this cold in Brisbane in December, wearing a jacket for the first time since winter. Whats going on, it should be sweltering!

Some rain falling over the dam catchments, just needs to be heavier.

Lovely lovely rain.
I can't remember the last time I saw it rain like this. Slow and consistant.
No storms attached. The rain is falling vertically!
