[SOLD] Canon 28-70f2.8L

SOLD I picked up a 24-105f/4 IS a while back and I have been agonising about keeping it and selling my 28-70f/2.8 or getting rid of the 24-105. Do I want f/2.8 or do I want IS? I couldn't decide. Ideally they should have added IS to the f/2.8 lens and I could have had both. I ended up tossing a coin (I really did) and I'm selling my 28-70f2.8L.

The lens is in excellent condition. The body is scratch and mark free as is the glass. There are a couple of tiny specs of dust in the lens but I'm sure some lenses come from the factory with more dust. The hood has some light usage marks but again no scratches/gouges etc.

Comes with lens, hood and caps.

Located in Toowong, Brisbane $1150pp

SOLD I also have a 550EX flash with case and stand that I am looking to sell. Top condition. $390pp (I don't have photos at the moment but can get some in the next few days)

Very nice, very tempting but I can't afford it.

I really want that 550EX flash as well but.. hmm. Look forward to seeing the photos.

Hmm very tempting indeed, but no cash at the moment.

I'd like to point out that Ben's lens is the older 28-70 2.8 model not the current 24-70 2.8. But it looks like the older lens is the one to get, check out the photozone review:

"The performance of the Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8 USM L came as a surprise because its optical quality exceeded the EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L (two samples tested). The lens doesn't really show any significant flaws - the resolution figures are very high and distortions and especially vignetting are very low. The degree of CAs is pretty decent for a zoom in this range. The build quality is very good with only the reverse zoom extension as a minor downside. "

That is why I had so much difficulty deciding which one to get rid of.

I think I have said this before IS on an F 2.8 would make the lens size( barrel diam) rather large!
