Flamin' Horse! ( first (imaging) light of the WO ZS80)
Hello,
had a bit of fun last night testing out the new William Optics Zenistar 80mm for imaging. It's usual purpose should be for autoguiding but i thought i'd give it a go last night.
Thanks guys,
Andrew there's always noise reduction in the post processing!
:]
but i've been comparing ISO 1600 and ISO 800 recently on the horsehead and the difference in final outcome is better on the I800 but only a little. I think that the bigggest problem comes from very long exposures at ISO 1600.
Nevertheless, the resolution is always a bit better at ISO 800.

Cheers Frank,
I agree about the slight difference between ISO 800 and 1600.
Also the noise reduction I was wondering about was the use of Neat Image or Noise Ninja.
Do you use anything like that?
Thanks everyone,
Mike, I am constantly amazed at the performance of my CG5. You wouldnt go wrong with the sturdier EQ6!
Andrew, I use Noiseware, you can download for free.
Matt, C9.25 rocks, it's amazing as a guidescope!!! HAHAHAAH

Really excellent shot, Frank. When did you get the ZS80. Have just got a WO Megrez tripletED80 but it has yet to see first light with the canon. Be interested to compare.
Hi Allan,
I got the ZS80 a couple weeks back replacing my 100mm spotting scope I was using as a guidescope.
The Megrez seems like a top notch scope you'll be producing top images with it without a doubt!

I have been considering an 80mm in the class you have chosen. The image seems very good to my eye and methinks its the Optics of the main objective that is responsible for much of what you have here.. I am trying to talk myself into the final purchase rundown for an 80 triplet.. great work and you will only need the 9.25 for a guide scope and visual work...mmm makes sence and less frustration.
