i did mine tonight, tried in in the front yerd, but for some reason it just wouldnt polar align, was going to give up, then took it out the back, re did it and got it working. Currently imaging NGC4945 doing 20 second exposures

But i dont have much time tonight, so wont get much data, but still nice to know it was simple enough to do

Also note the power ligh on the S50 is a different colour, so this was planned from the get go i would say

got a chance to test EQ mode tonight. 80 min of 20 second exposures, This is uncropped and just as stacked by seestars own software

Ill play with it in siril tomorrow and will also like to try 30 second exposures

Did you notice a reduction in the number of rejected images at all?

I'd run the .fit file through graxpert as well...it seems to work will with the raw output from the seestar...

Yes much fewer rejected image, all in all very happy with the eq update and so far has been a since to polar align.
I had it on the skywatcher star adventurer wedge last night, so can confirm that works a treat.

so new firmware update and we now have 60 sec exposures. This firmware popped up after last nights imaging session, so havent tried it yet. Knowing that your polar alignment needs to be very good for the 30 sec exposures, otherwise drops way too many frames, id say it would be even more critical with 60 seconds.

This was last night with 30 second exposures.

I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to astrophotography. A recent redundancy has provided a great excuse to try and get back into stargazing. We already have a 12" & a couple of 6" dob 'scopes (the Orion 6" often goes away camping). I bought myself the S50 as a little retirement present back in April and I'm very much still learning about it.

We love it! I'm sure my pics are quite dodgy, but just the ease of use and extreme portability is a winner. To our untrained eyes we are really enjoying the images we are obtaining. The app is excellent. I have the aftermarket scope leveler that does make that process much easier, and a dust cap. I now tend to use Stellarium to plan what to look at (like I would for our Dobs). The S50 gets a big from me!
