Kati Thanda Lake Eyre

I've been out camping at Kati Thanda for the past 2 weeks.

I was at Lake Eyre for the previous big flood in 2010-2011. There was a smaller event in 2015 but the big events are 15-30+ years apart. Doing the maths, I might not be around for the next one.

Floodwaters have already made their way down the Warburton Creek into Madigan Gulf and further south to Halligan's Bay. Much bigger volumes from the SW Qld flood are currently making their way down the Cooper. They are past Innaminka and have reached the punt crossing but not the Cooper Crossing of the Birdsville Track.

Spectacular conditions, and incredible light and landscape. I was due to do an overflight but high winds cancelled my flight and they could not reschedule another flight for me for 2 weeks.

They are the most amazing, stunning images Joe!
It's a pity you couldn't do the fly over, I was wondering if that was on your schedule, next time, you never know and we'll have hover boards by then but I don't think they go across water, everyone knows that.
