Tilted Component Telescopes (TCT's)

Has anyone made and/or used a tilted component telescope.
I have made a 350mm Kutter Schiefspiegler, a 100mm schiefspiegler and two little ones ,60mm aperture.
I am keen to converse with anyone with an interest in this aspect of astronomical equipment.

Many years ago, it was possible to by a commercially made schiefspiegler but those days are long since passed.
In modern times, to take advantage of the non-obstructing properties of a TCT, it is necessary to make the instrument oneself. With the decline in amateur telescope making as a hobby, the TCT is becoming more uncommon, and I predict that in the next few years such instruments will become extinct.

new TCT

David, I have the optical components for a 155mm schiefspiegler. Perhaps it is time I mounted them. Barry

A schiefspiegler has a typical f-ratio of f/20. The primary is usually about f/12 The secondary is placed at a distance of about 2/3 of the primary focal length from the primary. The configuration results in a very long open light path subject to air turbulence and stray light. This is a disadvantage not encountered in refractor and Schmidt-cassegrain type telescopes.
