I feel the most sorry for those who lost their lives or were severely injured
fighting far from home in:
Europe, the Middle East and Gallipoli.

Australia and NZ had only small populations and so we shouldn't have
been as involved as we were in wars so far away.
Somehow - we got dragged into it.
