Filter draw help please guys...

I need a filter draw to fit in my imaging train for 2" filters, I,m tired of dismantling everything to swap or remove it. Between a redcat 51 and a ASI 533, Currently there are three tubes between then to reach focus..What do I need in this instance, my gear is 200km away and I would like to take one with me next time I go to play with it... Cheers....

Hi Shawn

I can't really help, but, I suspect that those who can will need some information about thread sizes, tube lengths and the order they are in.

A question asked out of ignorance, what about a filter wheel?

Good luck

Hi Phil, I dont have the scope with me, that is the problem. I know there are three spacers that came with the 533, all of which were required to reach focus..thread sizes etc, is where I need advice..As I only use an Lpro for light pollution at home, a filter wheel would be an overkill.. Cheers Shawn

Edit: I found a picture if it helps...

Hi Shawn,

Looking at your photo, you can replace the 16.5mm spacer with a ZWO filter drawer and still keep focus fine. (Or any other filter drawer that's 16.5mm thick / deep / long.)

The only problem is the thread size - I can't tell if they are M42 or M48 extensions tubes in there.

To that end, the ZWO filter drawer is M48, but mine came with an M42-M48 adapter ring so it will fit both size tubes.

I do strongly recommend that you do not buy anything right now. Get your information and measurements first.

Cheers,
V.

Ive got my gear back here now Steve, I will check the thread sizes, and I might have to re-reverse the element in the LPro, I reversed it because it ghosted really badly oriented the way it was, thread to scope. Cheers Shawn
