Witches Head (first on target, first use of AM3)

Hi all

Some data from last October that has been sitting un-edited. Never worked on this one before, and boy Rigel gave me trouble!

EDIT: Can't believe I uploaded an earlier edit... here's the actual one I finished with. And only one image this time!

Funnily enough, 6.67 hours on this target with the 2600MC and FRA400.
I used the AM3 and it worked really well

Big Version here

Cheers
Adam

Great image Adam, the Askar and 2600 working very well together here.
Your image brings out the little galactic group in the witches hair very nicely - hadn't actually appreciated them before.
Very nice work mate

You must have collected that in wee hours

It's come together nicely

Actually, I nearly hit those galaxies in the Witch, instead of Orion's Finger

Thanks Doug! I knew about those little galaxies but they surprised me actually in being bigger than I thought. For a 400mm f/l scope, it's not bad. I'd imagine Mike would do these justice on their own.

Cheers Paul, yes it is a great little mount. It's my new travel scope and will take it overseas whenever I can afford to do that again

Oh yes. It was a B1/B2 zone and I alternated between this and the Veil Nebula Complex. I don't want to talk about how the data came out for that one but this one tracked pretty well at early hours.

Would love to see you go after those galaxies!

Really nicely done Adam. With some dark sky this whole area just comes alive! Great processing too!

Hey Adam, I recon this would make a nice large vertical banner style wall hanging, end of a hallway or something...hmmm? nice and minimalist but moody...

Thank you Dave Honestly I didn't know there was this much going on in the area. Will be re-doing this over the coming year or two with some more narrowband as well.
