Sculptor Galaxy NGC 253 with DSLR & RC6

Another year another Sculptor.
The best 70 of 80 3 minute exposures @ iso1600 and used darks, flats and bias frames for a change.

Not sure I see a great deal of difference using darks, but the flats certainly help.

cheers

Mark

Great job with the DSLR, Mark. Nicely processed too, tight stars and natural colour show the beauty of this old favourite. I'm shooting it as I write this now, so I'll see what I can come up with.

A very nice result, Mark. Plenty of satisfying detail and colour, and the subtle arms swirling around the core give it a nice 3D feeling too. I always use darks, flats and darkflats and while the net effect of using darks/darkflats is very subtle on my ASI533MC, it's very noticeable on my ASI294MC and MM ... it really does depend on the sensor.
