A couple of images from a long weekend away in the Flinders Ranges last week.
Fornax A and NGC 6559 (the Furnace and the toes of the foot formed with the Lagoon - hence the un-punny title!).
Even though quite a lot of data was captured, seeing was middling to poor and there was some wind and cloud, as well as some reflection issues inside my scope. Hence processing was a bit of a struggle. But as a Pom it keeps me happy to whinge.
Always good to see the fruits from your ventures out to the mythical Flinders Ranges Paul, always sounds so appealing . As Al said and despite your national querulous idiosyncrasies , these are still two great trophies from you latest astronomy expedition, NGC 1316 is such a crazy looking mess of a galaxy
Hi Paul,
a couple of great pictures - I hope to see more.
Thanks, Allan.

Thanks, Mike. Lol. Yes, it is a mystical land to the north of Adelaide. And "querulous" is such a great word!!!
Thanks Josh. Though the RC8 is a pain to collimate, and, as I said, currently experiencing a weird reflection issue I cannot pin down. So not sure my recommendation would be without qualification!
