What is not helping collecting fees is the kings of the sandbox sitting on high mountain in white towers. IIS is a clear prove of that.

Have you ever crossed your mind that this kind of attitude might be driving people away from engaging with this forum in the first place?

Actually it's your preconceived attitude of the forum regulars
There would be no obligation to pay unless you want to go further, much like on our motorcycling forum where non members cant use the classifieds and some other parts. A very small area of the forums no one would or should be forced to pay so no need to get your back up

I would not insult you with such a small offering that is way below your value and given your expertise is priceless indeed any figure would be an insult...I will offer you my respect and admiration which also is priceless...money is of little value in these matters.

Is this crawler thing similar to what’s happening with reddit where sites are scraping data causing increased traffic?

I’d be happy to pay yearly fee. These forums have always been my goto for help and support.

All we need do is identify " spiderman" and sue him for damages

Hey that is entirely possible particularly if you have a good idea of who it probably is.. someone who thinks they are very clever and has covered their tracks but their bitterness has them overlooking little things they don't think important ... like their lack of understanding on something..say grammar..they can't be too clever as there is no profit in running their spider ... so they have time on their hands.. and no doubt will hang around the scene of the crime..mmmm..maybe use different names after being banned.

I propose a reward of half the damages recovered from this criminal to go to who ever tracks him down and enables his successful prosecution. I know we have members who can get this criminal.

I think it is only a matter of time before we nail him.

But clearly to think someone who obviously is so bitter and delusional can run a spider probably means we need better software but then again we would not have such a problem if we just step on Spiderman and crush him...crush him crush him crush him...

It just occurred to me..if you are reasonably confident of who is the villain you can sue them so as to start proceedings and then get a court order to inspect all their records...computer records of course but also bank records which can point to purchases of say software, ...anyways if you are sure you and want to ruin them just involve them in legal proceedings that has their lawyer bleeding them dry...sure it will cost you but the satisfaction gained from showing someone they are just not as clever as they tell themselves is well worth it... and of course they will always settle when they realise they just can not win..even if they win
AND in cases where the villain is being malicious you can seek punative damages which means the court can award damages which don't reflect actual damage but are more like a penalty... so let's seek $10,000,000 isn't that something to think about..ok we can settle and just take their house...or farm for example...so many villains think they are so smart but the courts just chew them up and spit them out...mainly because they are just plain fools.

Crush the spider man...

Xelasnave,

maybe you should execute your line of though you build here publicly online?

But I would strongly advice you to take the proper action. Particularly in relation for insults and insinuations you spread around. You may find yourself very quickly in the other side of the stick you are cooking here. The record is pending.
