Strongman Mike Sidonio Keynote: This Friday- Melbourne

Are you in Melbourne? The Aus Prize organisers (aka Robyn, my wife) have over-catered for this event with a massive 4-metre grazing plate and a whole lot of wine & beer! We need more people to come along and enjoy this fabulous event to save me from overeating and drinking a bit too much (hic!)
We're discounting tickets by 20% for Astrophotographers and Astronomy fans so more of you can come along to Photography Studies College, South Melbourne this Friday, 2:30pm - 8:30pm and see 50 of the world's finest Astrophotos judged and debated live by an expert panel, followed by a terrific keynote presentation by Astrophotography Legend Mike Sidonio.

Come and join us in celebrating the best of Australian and International Astrophotography in style!
Here's a link to the website. Use the code APPSTRONGMAN for discounted tickets for only $60 each.

If you can push it back a few hours and have it start closer to 8pm I’ll be there
Would love to make it but work gets in the way.

Andy,

Super keen on meeting y’all.
Looking forward to a fun and informative presentation.
What time will the event crank up Andy? - I’m tipping after 5? I don’t want to miss the formalities( Friday traffic after work is a battle)

Cheers!
Anthony.

A very enjoyable evening, great to meet a few IIS members and see the entries being judged. Some amazing photos submitted as you would expect. I won't mention any winners, they will be officially announced later. Mike Sidonio's presentation was very interesting, reflecting on his "Strongman" years and his experiences with astrophotography from humble beginings in B/W film developing as a young boy, through to advancements in technology which he now makes use of in his 'Eagleview' mountain top observatory - what a transformation he's witnessed over those 40+ years! Congratulations to Andy, Robyn, their boys and volunteers for putting on a successful night's presentation wirh great food and drinks.

Lovely to meet you Michael and happy you enjoyed yourself. Although intense (in a good way) and requiring plenty of concentration, it was a cool experience for me too
