Swan

This was to be my first image with flats and bias so I was short on exposure time and unfortunately the calibration stuff did not work for me..but I selected this object by accident as when looking at Asiairs selection for the night theise image I could not work out so went there..and stayed

.anyways I went with what I had with only a few lights and probably went over board in Photoshop but the genny was full of petrol so I enjoyed myself.

About four hours RBG plus HA

Gear Askar 130,ZWO mount, OAG, ZWO 2600 mono and 120 mini, Deep Sky Stacker and Startools, Photoshop plus I tried star reduction in APP.

The Swan was certainly "drawn" out thanks to the magic of the dodge tool in Photoshop.

Rene mentioned something about not understanding why it was called the Swan Nebula so I used Photshop to bring it out...once when images were much less than we see today the Swan was clear but with better photography you just can't see it.

Thanks Alex..It was seeing your fine images that I thought of a new scope in fact to get one like yours but I just dont like a corrector plate or a long focal length and decided to get the Askar and not add a reducer..it has worked out well particularly on the ZWO mount and using OAG. Thanks for your encouragement.

Thank you John I have you to thank for suggesting flats were a good idea...have a look at the image below a post or two..it is with flats etc.

As I said in the OP this image was to have calibration...my first attempt..serious that is...wellI tried to stack in Astro Pixel Processor and because of my ignorance I could not produce a result..the image above was stacked in DSS without calibration frames but the one here was in DSS with darks, flats, and bias..although no flat darks..

Now for what ever reason processing went much better and colour did not seem a problem..to my eye I like the colour and that this image is somehow subtle...

what do you think about the colour?

Significantly better Alex. The palette is great, nice and soft. You have to include it in your workflow now Well done.

The most recent image is a ripper, Alex. The detail in the upper-right quadrant, all those gas trails and loops and spirals is amazing to see.
