Sky-Watcher HE-Q5 GoTo Equatorial Mount

Sky-Watcher HE-Q5 GoTo Equatorial Mount

Purchased new : December 2019

Includes :-
- Rowan Belt Mod
- Skywatcher WiFi adapter
- Hand Controller + cable
- Stainless steel tripod and spreader
- Skywatcher 5kg counterweight x 1
- Original packaging for mount head
- EDGE Vixen Bar protector - this stops the clamping screws from damaging the vixen bar
- EDGE Vixen Bar mounting lock - this stops your OTA sliding off the mount before you tighten the clamping screws
- EDGE Counterweight locks x 2

The counterweight locks are really useful …
The counterweight bar is polished stainless steel, so the small locking screw in the counterweight isn't strong enough to stop the counterweight sliding down.
The 2 counterweight locks are tightened using an integrated M6 bolt - once tightened they will definitely not move.

This mount has worked extremely well, particularly since the Rowan Belt mod.
It is in ‘as new’ condition - has not had a great deal of use.

Original costs
- HEQ5....................$1,899
- Rowan belt mod.........$269 + $165 installation
- WiFi adapter................$88
Total........................$2,421

The only reason I'm selling is because I purchased a larger mount with a higher payload for a larger telescope - here on IceInSpace.

I didn’t keep the original packaging for the tripod unfortunately, so cannot ship easily.

Pickup preferred.

Location : Sydney north.

Selling the lot for $1,500.

A perfect companion for the :-
- Skywatcher 80ED Telescope and
- ASI071MC Pro camera
also for sale here on IceInSpace.

Interested in your item

Good morning,
I potentially have some interest in your item for my son but would like to ask a couple of questions relating to the mount.

1. Have you had any issue tracking since the Roman mod was completed?

2. Has the mount been serviced since it was purchased? If so when and by who, by owner or business service department?

3. Are you firm on the price?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards, Craig

Hi Craig,
Thanks for your post .

To answer your questions ...

1. Have you had any issue tracking since the Roman mod was completed?

No - in fact the tracking has been great.
The Rowan mod has improved the tracking and reduced the backlash, and makes the mount run much more quietly.

2. Has the mount been serviced since it was purchased? If so when and by who, by owner or business service department?

I had the Rowan mod installed by Testar - they served the mount at the same time.

3. Are you firm on the price?

Pretty much.

If you're setting up a system for your son, I can recommend the 80ED telescope and 071MC camera that I also have for sale on iceInSpace.
