The Antennae Galaxies

The Antennae Galaxies (also known as NGC 4038/NGC 4039 or Caldwell 60/Caldwell 61) are a pair of interacting galaxies in the constellation Corvus.
Apparent size (V): 5.2′ × 3.1′ / 3.1′ × 1.6′
Distance: 45 Mly / 65 Mly
Size: 500,000 ly (150 kpc) (from WIKI)

3 hours of data via Askar rig and still sorting things out and so happy to have a result. Big crop and not sure about the colour.

Thanks David you are very kind but I certainly am happy with the Askar and the ZWO mount and OAG as it is far better than my other rigs.

Hiya Alex,

Well done for a 'settling in' run of your new rig. A few more hours of data (and a bit less green) and you'll be giving StrongManMike a run for his money...

Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Cheers,
V

Alex,
That’s an excellent image with some nicely resolved detail
Well done indeed
What length subs ?
Guided or unguided ?
Colour is green but more importantly under your eyes it’s probably fine
Cheers

Thank you very much Martin.
Subs 120 seconds.
OAG with ZWO mini dithered every fifth sub plus dark frames but no flats.
I try to fix the colour but have given up worrying too much while I get other things working.
Thanks again.

Thats a great result, Alex. I had thought this target too faint to have a crack at - you've proven me wrong ... thanks! Alex
