Sun images from Melbourne 17 October 2022 with cooled camera

It took some time for the cloud to burn off this morning so we didn't get to start imaging til 11:45am. In a rare moment of excellent seeing we captured probably one of the best full disk images we ever have.

We also tested our DIY camera cooler this morning. We did images both with and without the cooler running to see if there were any vibration issues. This was inconclusive as the final image was from a video without the cooler running but its quality figure was a total stand out from all other videos so it was just a freak moment. The cooler kept the sensor at around 25C.

Full disk Ha image taken with Daystar Solar Scout 60 double stacked with Lunt 40 etalon, ASI178MM camera and 0.5 reducer.
