I am selling my AZEQ5 due to an upgrade. Great condition. I have tuned it myself to get better tracking for astrophotography and has almost halved my guiding errors on PHD2. I have pulled out the pier extension and replaced it with my own 3D-printed sleeve.
It can be used in alt az mode or equatorial mode. I have used alt az for some planetary work however I have primarily used equatorial mode. Alt Az is very easy to use for visual observing.
Included is the mount, tripod, pier extension, 2x 3.5kg counterweighs, counterweight bar extension, 12V cigarette socket power supply, the 3D-printed sleeve, and hand controller.
Unfortunately, I can't include the computer ASCOM cable as I need it for the new mount.
$1400 pickup in Canberra. Possible to drive about an hour to drop off or meet up. Unfortunately without a box, I can't ship it. $2300 new from Sirius Optics so a 40% price reduction.
You say you are willing to drive an hour to deliver it. Could meet you at Goulburn railway Station which would suit me better with the cash in hand to pay you, as I am nearly 74. But if that does not suit you will hitch to Canberra from Goulburn Station. After delivering a NON-GOTO eq5 to Canberra was dropped on Federal Highway, and hitched back to Goulburn Railway station
I desperately want one of these mounts. Guy in Tassie offered me one, but I do not trust strangers. I paid $430 for a pair of 25X100 Binoculars from America -- Cloudy Nights, and he ripped me off. Ditto a laptop on line, but cheap from China. PayPal would not refund me. Bought a 2 inch Star diagonal from a IIS member that post has lost. All I got from the Tracking number is WE do not know where it is -- Was sent during Lismore floods. So Prefer to pick up and pay cash.
Collect cans and Bottles from Garbage bins to save up the money for this [also got a few donations from strangers], so that that money was hard earned by me.
Also am sleeping under a bridge just north of Sydney and am anxious to get home by XPT train, then by two different busses.
Have a folding trolley with me in order to carry that weight. Carry bag is stashed under that bridge, north, but near Sydney, so will have to pick up that bag, before getting my self to Goulburn or Canberra. Willing to sleep a night there. Train ticket all the way home is free for pensioners [am 74 in November.]
So do not mind coming to Goulburn [preferably] or to Canberra [will have to hitch there from Goulburn as cant get cheap opal card fare to there] in order to pick the mount up, paying your price in Cash.
Only use WIFI hotspots, so not always on internet. Under the Wanted ads on ICEINSPACE, have been advertising for one of these for a while, so am a genuine Buyer.
And have sold through IIS also, as well as buying other items from several members, including an expensive C925, and a couple of refractors.
Hope your mount has the Adaptor for the second scope on the counterweight bar, as I want to use it with two scopes. One for a wide view of Orion, the C925 for a close up of the M42 nebula.
