Sculptor Galaxy NGC 253 with DSLR & RC6

Imaging opportunities here in Tassie few and far between this winter.

I broke with convention for this one and went for a higher iso with shorter exposure time to see what happens.

I've also started using some calibration frames which are certainly worth the extra effort.

Unmodded Canon 700d with a GSO RC6.
120 guided, dithered, 2 minute exposures at iso3200 using PHD2 and Astrophotography Tool.
20 Darks, 20 flats and 50 bias frames all squashed together in DSS and processed in Startools.

I think is turned out presentable.

thanks for looking

Mark

Hi Mark. This is a fine image. Nice work! Only suggestion is to check your colour balance, it's quite green, but otherwise your stars are great and so is the detail presented.

Great shot! Very presentable indeed!! Agree with Adam you could probably reduce the green just a bit.

Mark,
That’s a fine image of Sculptor
Looks like you have nailed your cameras capture settings for Galaxy imaging
Noise floor well mitigated too
Like others the only observation is the strong green bias which is easy to adjust in the colour module of Startools
Well done !!
Martin
