Southern Tadpoles! another one... when it rains it pours am i right?!

Taken Saturday night 26th March, was intending to collect more photons but it has been cloudy every night since and I lost the patience battle. I wasnt aware of this nebula until I captured a widefield image of the area recently and knew I wanted to come back to that target. Theres a couple more in that same widefield image I think will likely look interesting, something for another time. Since then, found Andy's APOD and another APOD version, a few on IIS and several on Astrobin.

8 hrs narrowband (4 hours Ha, 2 hours Oiii, 2 hours Sii), RGB for the stars (15 x 30s R,G,B). Esprit 120, EQ6R, 31mm Astrodon 3nm filters, ASI2600MM Pro, ASIAir Pro, Orion TOAG.

In this image, well its clearly the head of Lynx, in some kind of superhero costume.

Thanks, it has something about it agree. Quite like your version also, has some nice details on the tadpoles & great colour choice.

Can't believe how simila they are, one with a mono camera and filters, the other with a OSC and L-Extreme, I did need to process it a bit but the colours are so similar

Agree Nik, and to get that colour from an L-extreme isnt easy, so well done indeed.

So i mentioned my previous widefield image here, once I saw the tadpoles come up in pixinsight, determined to shoot them again in higher resolution @ 860mm but I think closer in again might do them even more justice.

How? Apart from the sacrificial lamb to the gods, it was 3 nights with a Redcat & NB filters & 1600MM on an AZGti (fantastic little mount), the usual processing (see: many hours), a couple of revisions later and hey presto! That's the result. The bright Ha spots have my attention though, ideally want go back and shoot them all individually.

It's convenient & quick to set up. Image quality is great, extreme corners can show slight elongated stars but as its petzval design i don't think there's anything that can be done about that.
