Le Pencil

Second ever mono image am liking the esprit / 294mm combo. just like its MC brethren, those pixels really suck up the light! bit sad i didnt have the cash to step up to the 268m right now and take better advantage of the huge image circle, but upsides are i have no tilt issues and that field is astoundingly flat, least i think

Much much tougher than gabriela with regards to signal. Reasonably happy with this effort nonetheless - 4hrs each of Ha and Oiii.

That turned out a treat. Very sharp. These Esprit scopes seem to be very good.

Its hard to go past a good APO for astrophotography. They just have enormous appeal.

Greg.

thanks greg. have to say, my limited experience with it so far has me buying into the hype. really great scope, especially at the price.

A nice sharp Pencil! The ASI294 seems an excellent match for the focal length of the Esprit 120 without needing to unlock the binning mode. The Optolong filters seem to do a nice job also. Congrats :-)

thanks ben. am very happy with the switch to mono and no more lost resolution through interpolation. agree, very pleasantly surprised with the little optolongs. at 1/3 the cost of the antlia 3nm, great set of starter filters!
