Horse Head
I managed to get a tad more data for this horse-season, before the heavens opened up, to add to last year's set.
With things settling down after Christmas I finally had the time to tidy this one up a bit...
with, as far as I could make it, an accurate colour palette (gosh! golly! what a concept! )
The link is here

My kind of image. I really like the "accurate colour palette".

Ta guys......Very kind....I'm hoping one day to have a rural plot to set up the observatory somewhere without the light spill......urban imaging is a PITA...but from you kind comments, I gather this one's a keeper

Thanks guys
Thinking of horses.....for a bit of fun I've penned a few cup winners into the lines below.
I guess this image was Viewed as Shocking if you are a Rain Lover.
I had the Covid induced Delta Blues. No point in being Protectionist I had to Think Big.
So under a Green Moon using Just A Dash of American Brew.
I had to Vow and Declare to stop watching the White Noise of the Fox Media Puzzle.
The Trump was no Statesman he was just a Windbag and a Comedy King holding a Comic Court.
My Sister Olive said What a Nusance! the forecast was for cloud. I thought the chances of it clearing were Even Stevens.
Sirius was Rising Fast, looking more like a Lantern than a Bright Spec. Bravo! I declared. I would be on Night Watch.
The Hallmark of the Barnard Catalog would soon be Rekindling my interest this Ethereal Black Knight.
With Just a Dash of luck and the Might and Power of the Alluna RC in my imaging Arsenal
and if I was Efficient I would make a Clean Sweep of the night’s imaging session.
Happy New Year!

Hi Peter,
Great image as l said earlier, but just wondering with your level of imaging and gear whether you'd be up for a suggestion to do The Horsehead in lnfrared something similar to the famous Hubble dark blue/pink/white coloured infrared image. Whilst typical or even high end astrocams wouldnt reach into to the 2000nm plus range like the hubble instruments, maybe something is possible using the near infrared range from say 700nm to 1500nm which is typically in the range of some astrocams. One could use photographic infrared filters of various passbands to perhaps try something unless you're already geared up with something more suitable to your filter wheels, etc...
Just a suggestion, but l think it would rock.
I can link to the Hubble image l was suggesting if you like, but l'm reluctant to do that sort of thing in a person's image thread.

Beautiful image Peter, a dramatic close up of the " star " attraction in this region.

Ta.
Unfortunately the prospect of getting anything like the Hubble IR image would be nigh impossible from sea level with my setup.
Both my KAF16803 and IMX455 based cameras have very low QE above 1100nm.
The Hubble Wide Field camera 3 comfortably goes out to 1700nm and has no atmospheric water vapor to attenuate the flux,
so while it is a nice idea, I doubt I’d see much flux from the nebula
with an appropriate IR filter attached (does anyone even make a 50mm square 1100nm filter?)

Thanks. I think both narrow and wide field works for the HH...but narrow field isn't that common, hence tends to draw you in a bit more.

Well, I could have pushed the bejeesus out of the data, I but rather liked the more subdued look. 10x better (resolution? depth? ) from the 'burbs would require the HST m'thinks.
But if you have taken a recent image of Barnard 33, I'd be happy to have a gander and get a few pointers.
