NGC3324 - Noob

Ok so im very new to this. It's only my 2nd time up in the sky.

I have a heq5pro and sitting on that is a Bintel BT200 f/5.

Camera im using is a Sonya7ii.

Can anyone give me advice on what could cause the outside of my shot to be so out of focus? Also, any tips and advice would be welcomed.

That's not bad at all Jay.

1_ You have a bit of camera tilt. So make sure the camera is tight in the focuser draw tube and there's no sag in the focuser as well.

2_ You'll need to get a coma corrector fo that newtonian so you get a flatter field and less aberrations on the edges.

That's about it. Once you have these two things sorted out you'll be laughing.

With the camera secured in the draw tube try to wiggle it see if there's any play with the focuser itself.

The Baader MPCC Mark III is a good entry coma corrector. Some popup in the classified second hand sometime.

No worries. Also get an adjustable spacer. The back of the MPCC needs to be ~55mm from the camera sensor. The shop can help you with that.
