18hrs is long only by comparison to my typical nebula image... mostly because until recently I only imaged nebulae when the moon was too full for galaxy imaging. I routinely go ~20hrs with galaxies these days. My two longest integrations are over 30hrs (Thor's helmet and Grus triplet).
Amusingly I recently put 25hrs of luminance (technically my deepest image to date, I've never put that much
luminance into a target before) into a galaxy that I'm probably going to abandon. NGC 3923 is
tough; think I'll leave her to Rolf lol.
