I finally got my Amiga 4000 Motherboard back, have re connected it, and for some strange reason I have no video. I have a VGA video card in the computer, so to isolate the problem, I need to go back to the basic video off the Motherboard. Unfortunately the only monitor that I know of that will connect to this is the original commodore 1048s. Just wondering if anyone out there has one of these collecting dust or knows of someone that may have one.
Sorry Peter no such monitor here, but perhaps you could to tap (with great care) some of the video output on the 23pin video connector to obtain some sort of RGB signal to drive perhaps a component video display/tv input found on some TVs and monitors.
There is risk with everything so, please disregard if uncomfortable. There is a pinout for what appears to be the amiga 4000 23pin video connector here.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga_video_connector
The link above also makes mention of an Amiga Video to SCART cable, which you could possibly try on any SCART input TV. I don't know if the following are the correct ones, but there are some here which may suit... https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_...cable&_sacat=0
I found an old Microvitec monitor that will synch to 15Khz, but I have further issues, the Video card will not apparently show until the Hard disk is accessed, and I think the 2 hard discs have had their day. If I plug into the default video port with the hard discs disconnected I get the screen asking for a floppy to be inserted. Pretty sure the OS came pre loaded on the hard drives, so currently I am up the creek without a paddle as I have no OS disks.
