Possibly Houghy but I've never seen it on any other shots. Yes it is a DSLR shot.

I agree with Ian

From CDC:
NGC 121 - Globular Cluster in Tucana
Dimesion 1.5' x 1.5'
Mag: 10.6

And is marked on Taki's 8.5 Star Atlas (even though it is 10.6) but not labelled.

Excellent find Dave!

After comparison with a very good image with all the ngc objects close to 47Tuc I have worked out to be Ngc152 and has a given mag of 12p, Ngc 121 is on the other side, not visible in your image

Well Done Ron!

NGC152 isn't shown in any of my programs or maps.

Thanks Ken , there is another cluster in the photo which looks like a double star, which is closer to 47Tuc, which is Ngc 176, both at 12th mag

I'm going to stick with my version (sorry Ron ;-) ) the asterisms of stars around NGC 121 match those in Davos photos (Starry night Pro)
I will of course have to add this to my Obs list for the W/E now !

Nice photo Davo!

And good detective work, the rest of you! Astroron, I think I agree with you based on the asterisms in your image. Well done!

Al.

I have just come in from observing all three objects, and I have to reverse the two numbers , the object in question is ngc176 , the object and the asterism are quite distinct in the eyepiece on the image I attached Ngc 152 is covered by the number, this object is bigger but duller.
It was a good exersize in observational and chart reading which everybody enjoyed
