First Light 2" DGM NPB Filter

We finally had a decent sky last night even though it was early evening and only a couple of hours before moonrise. Visability was 6-7/10.

We wanted to test our new DGM Nebula filter with our 27mm Panoptic. Lagoon..Trifid..Swan..Eagle..Eta Carina and Tarantula.........such clarity and contrast....... dark lanes........nebula bright and detailed..........all without loosing star colours. The Swan and Tarantula as we had never seen them before. We couldn't believe the detail with such a low power EP.

We're convinced the Pano and the DGM go hand in hand when observing nebula. They were meant to be together.

Having the thread on the 2"-1.25" adaptor allowed us to use the filter with our Pentax 10mm XW.

At med-high power the filter performed just as well the great contrast of dark lanes and the core of each nebula was very bright and crystal clear the stars sharp and still showed their different colours.

We found this filter to be a real gem and can't wait to use it in better conditions.

I've got the 1.25" version, and agree it's a very nice nebula filter. Especially for the price.

I bought one of these too recently. I sent off an email (at about 11 pm on a cloudy night) and received an answer back in about 5 minutes. I ordered one and it turned up (in Perth) five daze later. Quite different from a well known German company that sells a similar filter...

Provides that the telescope is a reasonable size (don't bother trying it on an 80 mm refractor!) , the filter works very, very well!

Glad to hear you like that filter. I also use it quite regularly on selected targets in my 27mm TV Panoptic. It does great things on "The Helix" in Aquarius as well (NGC 7293)
