Lagoon and the Trifid

Hi All

A quick pop out to my favorite dark (Kuitpo Forrest) site for a bit of a play with the new Evostar 72ed that Im still learning.

This was a night where all the equipment work just perfectly but the weather ruined everything. DARV on the star adventure was quick and easy, balance was just right, even the new power supply to run the laptop was working as planned.

My first test shots at 6400 showed the pair clearly on the laptop, that was amazing enough that I sent Ryan a phone pic of the screen just to share the joy, it was looking like a good night.

But after just 10 minutes of imaging this pair, the fog rolled in killing my night. Ah well, it was a good practice

10 x 1min subs at Iso 1600
Stacked in DSS with darks
Processed in Photoshop CC

Is it a bit over processed? any advice?

Regards
Chris

Awesome colouring. I wish I get that much blue in mine. Definitely could use more data as you know. The other suggestion I would offer is to consider using a field flattener.

Thanks Gavin, yeah I was planning to get an hour of data at iso 1600 and another at iso 800 to play with but the fog limited me to 10 mins total, stupid weather. A field Flattener is next on my list after a guide cam.

Thanks Alex, I have the evaluation copy of startools but haven't had much luck so far with it, Ill youtube over the weekend and see if I can get something extra from it.

I did discover that the camera set to daylight colour temp is all wrong so I think Ill start working at about 4k, any advice on colour temps?
