Moving along to NGC6618.

Not much there really. Maybe lots of integration time and narrow band might improve things.

This image was from about 2 hours of 60s subs gain 70.
Again I couldn't get the star colour. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Don't think I will persevere on this one.

It seems to be one of those areas that is best shown in narrowband (like NGC3576) but you've captured it well

Hi Peter, good job; I assume that you were using your 85mm scope.
M17 really needs more aperture, or lots of time. Some years ago I had a go
at it with my 8" Newt. 12 minutes comprising 24x30secs. stacked in DSS,
no other processing. If I am hijacking, just say so and I'll remove it immediately.

Hay Raymo, much better effort than mine!

No hijack mate. Where all in this together

And thanks Atmos & Multiweb. Without encouragement it might get a bit dull...

It look really clean Peter, something to be proud of.

Maybe to get more - stretch further and don't cut the dark as much - but I'm just guessing. I remember live imaging this last year and it wasn't too bright unless I did narrowband H-alpha.

Looking good. I remember struggling to stretch this without losing detail in the core of it (which you have kept nicely).
