NGC55 Take 2

Following on from an earlier thread where I combined a luminance image from an ASI1600MM-C with an old QHY8 OSC image for colour, I grabbed some RGB data with the ASI1600.

Shockingly bad RGB data - was a windy night. But you seem to be able to get away with using quite poor colour data?? - dunno, I'm new at the LRGB game. This is only my second proper LRGB image.

This is about 3 hours of luminance and 2.5 hours (total) of RGB on an RC8 with an EQ6 mount all with just the ZWO 1.25" filter set.

Full res on Astrobin.

Much wider field than the previous image as didn't have to crop out the overlap of two very different images!

I seem to have lost the red Ha areas in the galaxy in this version - perhaps with the very poor res colour data?? Perhaps some Ha subs needed to rectify.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Looks a bit iffy at full res but very nice zoomed out a little.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick. Yeah, at 100% it is only 0.65" per pixel, so I guess that's pushing it for the scope + mount, especially in those windy conditions for the colour components.
