Slooh, lightbuckets etc

Was reading about sites where you can rent big fancy telescopes over the internet at an hourly rate and remotely control them and take pictures.

Slooh, Lightbuckets Online, itelescope were mentioned.

Have many of you used these sites ?

I had a membership with Slooh but I never used it for photography so I can't comment on that but the membership was reasonable at $5 per month I think off memory. I cancelled mine due to being time poor and kept missing out on events because for some reason my notification emails were always a day late. To be safe have your own timetable or visit the site frequently in order to keep track for upcoming events. If you rely on the email notifications it's possible that you may experience the same issue. However the site does have some great things and the live feeds always worked and streamed well. If I can recall in times of bad seeing they would have commentary and interviews from hosts with some other content so that you wouldn't just be looking at a blank screen with no sound.
