Quick M104

A couple of hours of M104 from this morning in Luminance.
Seeing was pretty good, but I'm having a light ingress problem with my Flat fields that is causing a bit of grief.

This is about a 75% crop of the full frame at 70% size.

GSO RC14 QHY9 Baader L OAG + ASI 120MM as guider
Original image 22 frames at 2830mm fl & 0.38"/pixel x 400s/frame

Cheers
Maurice

impressive resolution Maurice. It looks to me like it will hold up at full scale with just a bit more data. looking forward to the colour version.

Very nice Maurice! As Ray says, the resolution is impressive. I just compared it to one of my own from last season, that I captured at ~ 1.12" and drizzled x2. I'd considered my effort to be ok, but yours is showing much better resolution already even with minimal data.

Thanks Ray..towards the end of the night I was getting FWHMs of about 1.6" in 400s subs in Luminance..
We don't generally get that often here in Melbourne...
You are right; some more data & it might be good at full res..

Quick M104

Impressive image scale. How do you find the GSO 14" RC? I'm debating on getting the 12" which is a few thou less in price.

Hi Steve
Its not too bad..
Some testing has shown that it is diffraction limited, but occasionally I do get slight astigmatism issues which I still have to track down. I believe that its in the primary cell, but can't confirm this yet.
You'll definitely have to change the focuser to something like a Feathertouch, which can be a little expensive, but worth it in the end.
Overall its good value on a limited budget.
