Been out of action for a while now due to complications with the observatory and having just had our first child in November. Still out of action so I'm resorting to playing with old data and joining deep sky west for some wide field stuff.
This one is my own data, 12hrs worth of SHO, shot about 5 months ago I think. Details and full res are on astrobin. Actually going to get this one printed shortly, once my Spyder arrives so I can be sure what it will look like. Will be my first astro print.

As for Spyder, just do what I do and do all your processing on a laptop under all lighting conditions like I do
Quite like this also Lee, very good glow in the central area and them pillars look very natural in there

That's actually what I've been doing all along lol. I processed this one on a macbook pro... looks very nice on that computer but looks too dark and contrasty on the computer I'm at now. I assume the macbook isnt too far off, but we'll soon see.

That looks great Lee, especially at full res! Colours looks great! I'd probably up the contrast a little to make it pop a bit more, but that's personal taste.
Thanks Marcus! It is a little flat, but I'm hesitant to up the contrast much more lest I lose subtle shadow detail. I'll play around with it a bit before I get it printed.
Spyder arrived yesterday. This crappy laptop display low looks close to the mac displays. The iMac's calibration was pretty close to what it should be, which I expected, but it's nice to have confirmation that what I'm seeing is "right" now.
Thanks Lewis I like your tweak, but I think there's a middle ground to be found. I like the darker shadows in yours, and the core, but the dimmer oranges now look a bit overbaked to me. I'll make some very slight tweaks and try and find that middle ground Thanks again!
Nice composition, good colour and detailing is great. I really enjoyed processing this object when I imaged it last year. I think it really lends itself well to NB imaging and palettes.
Looks a little wishy-washy to me, Lee, but I reckon we're all seeing it differently. The ICC colour profile embedded in the image is called "Display". Unless you use a device independent colour space like sRGB or AdobeRGB only your system will know how to display it with accurate colour.

Cheers Rick! Not sure how that happened. I'm a total newbie when it comes to colour management. In the image attached to this post, I've converted the image to sRGB and embedded the profile. This seems to look consistent between Photoshop, PixInsight and Chrome now.

Looks better to me now, Lee. sRGB is a good default choice, at least until wide gamut monitors are so cheap everybody has one.
Hey, missed commenting on this one Lee ...a really pleasing result and the colours look good. I like the look of this object in the slightly wider field view like this, looks so grand and majestic, nice tiny stars there too
