I was using a 11/4" UHC since 20 years and screwing it into various EPs is was what I did.
As my UHC is old, one of the generations which cannot be cleaned, I decided to get a new one in 2". I finally decided to upgrade to a filter slide as well.
My scope is a GSO 12" and to make that work I rotated the spider by 45 degrees.
The filter slide I used is from Spheretek, it indexes with magnets and comes with a mounting plate which has correct threads for GSO, Moonlite and Feathertouch focusers.
I also mounted A A4 piece of felt opposite the focuser and covered the secondary holder on the side facing the FT with felt.
And whilst at it I converted the secondary to tool free, my primary is on strong springs and thumb screws since years.
I now know what I have missed for so many years, a filter slide is just so convenient - get one!
