I think the challenge is a great idea and good to get the community talking.

One thing - It was said that we were able to cast 2 votes,l which I did, but thinking on it later, these were effectively 2 first preferences, unless the voting thread system has some way of differentiating which vote was 1st and 2nd and preference them accordingly. Somehow , I doubt that. In that case maybe we should just have 1 vote each.

All the photos entered were great, difficult to choose from and enjoyable to see !!!

Hi JA,
Thanks for Voting

Your assumption is correct. Every vote counts equally as 1 vote.
Whereas I agree with the sentiment that it would be good to have a higher weighting for your first choice, the system does not allow for such.
Responding individually to the thread, with a points allocation would achieve this, but this would divulge the identity and the choice of each voter, which is against the challenge policy.

However, with this in mind, a subtle change I have introduced already, means that multiple votes is optional. In other words, you can vote for just one if you so choose.

Agreed this is not the best solution, but the challenge is just a bit of fun, and multiple votes is a good way to share the love around a bit more, as the number of multiple votes allowed increases with the volume of entries.
So in some cases, it is not the best photo technically, or the best "on theme" interpretation, but a bit more random.

So please continue to support the Photo Challenges and keep it a fun distraction, open to all classes of photographers.

It's a wonderful distraction. One question- What of the art of the moving image? I suspect video is not permitted as part of the Photo Challenge.

I would think the intended topic is about snapshots of things in action- perhaps a bird in flight or an animal running? I'm not sure what else you could take a picture of for it.

If you're having trouble thinking of something to fit the action category just keep in mind a good action shot involves something moving but captured at a critical time.

Just a few ideas for those that may be struggling, what about: surfing, football, car racing, mountain biking, skiing, diving, skateboarding, etc.

Sometimes a slightly longer exposure while tracking the subject is good to capture the movement and feeling of speed.

Have a water fight... I love a good shot of a water bomb caught in the process of exploding!

Have some fun with it.
