Anyone near Bondi?

Gidday folks,

Just getting into this astronomy game, and wondering if there is anyone out there near Bondi who might want to catch up when the skies eventually clear.

Also, where are the best spots for viewing in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. What about the reserve along the ocean cliffs at Dover Heights?

Please feel free to email me or reply through this thread.

Kind regards, Mike

Welcome Mike (evo), not near Bondi, but near the cliffs will give you slightly better seeing to the east. However, watch the dew on the cliffs. When ever you are near water bodies, dew or sea spray you are more likely to get dew on your scope or observing gear.

Best of luck with your entrance into the hobby, ask as many questions that you like, this site is about growth. We are more than happy to help.

Hey Mike.

I think the NSAS would probably be closest, north sydney (turramurra). That's the club i'm in.

We are planning to have an IceInSpace sydney or newcastle or central coast viewing night soon, would be great if you could come to that.
