Saturn 16/5/16 - ASI290MM 2nd Night

The ASI290MM is an amazing camera, and this was my second night out with it after extensive testing for optimum settings two nights prior. Worked flawlessly with Firecapture 2.5 beta and latest ZWO drivers.

A notable upgrade from the QHY5L-II.

Taken with an EdgeHD 925 in variable seeing, varying between good and average.

This is straight RGB, i normally use RG610 for luminance but i wasnt happy with Encke division alignment. Green channel shows the polar hex well resolved but i wanted to keep the colours in a natural palette so didnt use it for L either. The overcooked G is attached at 100% scale

Recommend viewing not full screen with IIS viewer (proper scale is 67%, and i sized the image to display properly on a HD screen ).

Enjoy!

Very nice image, the camera seems to perform very well for Planetary photography.
