Tripod for a Vixen Porta ii head

I would like some advice on a more solid tripod for my Vixen Porta head,the tripod that came with the head is ok but was wanting something a little more solid especially for my SW ED100 any advice would be appreciated

I have a sky view alt-az and removed the head off the standard tripod mainly because of being too low .
So I purchased a survey tripod much stronger and a lot higher all I needed was a new bolt and made a spacer out of a nylon chopping board
I'll dig up a pic
